Montjuic mountain offers a unique combination of art, architecture and landscaping. Masterpieces by Mies Van der Rohe and Josep Lluís Sert are combined with visits to some of the most significant art centers in Catalonia, along with a great diversity of gardens and parks of great landscape and botanical interest.

The route is a perfect opportunity to get to know the main works, art centers and gardens of Montjuic. The uses of the mountain and the perception of it by the people of Barcelona have varied greatly over the centuries, with the Morrot de Montjuic being the place where the oldest archaeological remains of the city have been found.

It was after the Universal Exposition of 1929 when a large part of the mountain was urbanized and transformed into an area dedicated primarily to leisure and recreation. For lovers of modern architecture, the reconstruction of the Barcelona pavilion by Mies Van der Rohe (1929, 1986 reconstruction) and the Miró Foundation by Josep Lluís Sert (1975) are unmissable landmarks, but there is much more to see.

The mountain of Montjuic, famous for its ancient stone quarries, is undoubtedly a unique site for those interested in landscaping. In Montjuïc coexist noucentistes gardens such as the Laribal Gardens (by Forestier i Rubió i Tudurí) with contemporary parks and gardens, such as the Botanical Garden of Barcelona (Carles Ferrater, Beth Figueres and Luis Canosa) or the Parc del Mirador del Migdia.

In terms of art and culture, Montjuic is home to some of the most important museums and art centers in Catalonia, such as the MNAC, La Fundació Miró or the CaixaForum Barcelona.

Interior visits will be arranged and confirmed in advance with clients. Entrance fees to museums are not included in the itinerary price.

Given its enormous and varied possibilities, the Montjuic tour is tailor-made from a basic itinerary, adapting the program to the agreed time (2h30, 3h30 or full day) and to the primary interest of the group, be it modern architecture, landscaping, or contemporary art, for example.
