The itinerary combines interesting rehabilitations, public spaces and parks and residential cooperative housing buildings by some of the most promising architectural firms of the current Catalan architectural scene.

Marked by their former agricultural and industrial uses, Sants and Les Corts are today dynamic socio-cultural areas where many interesting projects have been carried out in the last decade, most of them rehabilitations. From the 19th century onwards, numerous industries were installed in both areas, such as the Castells textile factory or the Planells glassworks in Les Corts, or the Can Batlló and Vapor Vell textile complexes in Sants.

After a time of abandonment and decay, many of these disused factories have been successfully transformed into public facilities. This complete network of spaces for social interaction (libraries, civic centers, cooperative centers) has favored the associative and collaborative fabric and the cultural and social dynamism of these neighborhoods.

In Sants we will see housing cooperatives (external visit if not confirmed otherwise) and cooperative coworking spaces, which stand out for their defense of the collective, the promotion of sociability among neighbors and sustainability in construction.

Cooperative projects by architects such as LaCol and Celobert include the participation of the future inhabitants in the entire process of development, design and use of the building, while still focusing on innovation, sustainability and good design. At the construction level, the structural use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels and low-impact materials in these developments stands out.
